People of DataDiggers - Liviu Micu (Senior Researcher)

Updated: Oct 26, 2021

The time has finally come! We are delighted to welcome Liviu Micu, an experienced Senior Researcher with lots of knowledge to share.

With 13 years of research experience, working for companies like Vodafone, Ipsos, or other reputable organizations, he is the ideal candidate to adhere to our standards and adapt.

We are curious to see what he has prepared for us!

What are you known for?

A few quite unorthodox views, if I may say so myself.

What’s the last TV show you watched?

It was the 'Valley of Tears', an Israeli miniseries.

If you had to pick one age to be at permanently, which age would you choose? Why?

That’s an easy one, 20 years with today’s experience, please. When can I start?

If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

'George The Eternal Contrarian'. It seems I’m always finding myself against the current, in one way or another. I don’t even have to try; it happens just like that.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

I try to ignore any distractions, including emails and dealing with other subjects, as much as possible — especially when I’m working on more complex issues. Multitasking is way overrated, and I’m convinced it hurts productivity much more often than not.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?

Making raw data, be it numbers or other kinds of data, telling a compelling story — this is something akin to Sisyphus work, I don’t think I’ll ever stop working on it. Maybe when I drop dead, but who knows.

How do you prefer to start your day?

Fully rested, preferably. Unfortunately, I don’t always manage to.

What’s the best clothing item you’ve ever bought?

I had, and I still have, a couple of items I really like — some shirts, a few pairs of pants — some are sports pants, some are jeans.

I see what you are trying to do here — make me discriminate, but I refuse to do so; I hope to find even more favourite clothing items and live all together in harmony.

What’s the most stupid thing you’ve ever bought?

A pair of pants when I was young. I looked like a clown in it and. And while this can be a good thing for a clown, that wasn’t my intention.

Can you tell me a good joke?

Sorry, can’t help you here, I only tell bad jokes.

How do you take your coffee/tea?

Both coffee and tea with no sugar. We wouldn’t want me getting too sweet, would we?

Have you ever had the “imposter syndrome”?

I sure did. I think being always extremely confident in yourself, no matter what, means you’re missing something. It’s healthy to re-examine some of your beliefs from time to time — after all, it’s said you should never stop learning, right?

What do you do at DataDiggers and in what circumstances would I come to you for something?

You could say my job is trying to pinpoint the final clients’ real questions and work with the whole team until we can provide them with answers.
