Romania is entering the AI era with enthusiasm and caution in equal measure. Awareness and self-reported proficiency are higher than in the U.S., yet actual workplace adoption remains limited. Most Romanians experiment with AI tools on their own, valuing speed, availability, and relief from repetitive work. Still, many doubt AI’s emotional intelligence and worry about job security—over half know someone replaced by AI or fear it might happen soon.
