This study explores how Romanians perceive and interact with wild animals, particularly bears and wolves, highlighting both real-life encounters and the psychological impact of media and RO-Alert messages. While fear is often driven more by sensational reporting than by direct experience, most respondents support coexistence through education, better waste management, habitat protection, and responsible communication from authorities. Rather than seeking conflict or extermination, Romanians favor preventative measures and informed policies for peaceful human-wildlife interaction.
