Getting to know DataDiggers - Marieta Grigore (Project Associate EMEA)

It's been a long time since we've had a reveal on our blog, so perhaps it's time to present to you, our Project Associate EMEA, Marieta Grigore!

What does working in the market research industry mean to you?

Fun! Fun! Fun! Just kidding! 😊 I’m a newbie to this domain, but in the few months working in the market research industry, I realized it means attention to details, diplomacy, and focus.

From whom in the market research industry have you learned most in your career?

I have learned the most from Catalin (Executive VP, Operations) and Madalina (Research Executive). Thank you, guys!

What does success mean to you?

Success, I think, is that moment when you realize that all the efforts were worth it.

What do you do to move forward in the profession you have chosen?

I keep on learning! Because every new situation helps me to move forward.

How would you describe the market research industry in Romania?

I do believe that the market research industry is a tough one. There's a lot of competition going on!

If you were able to meet yourself, at the moment when you first got hired, what advice would you give to your younger self?

I would tell myself to pay more attention to the metrics 😊!

Why did you choose to work in the market research industry?

I needed a change in my life, something to pique my interest. And I feel like this job brought me everything that I ever needed.

What was your ‘dream career’ when you were little?

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a teacher. And I actually managed to teach children for 8 years, then I realized that it’s not a ‘dream career’ in Romania…

What do you think is the most important thing in life?

Personally, I think that there are multiple important things in life: family, love, gratitude for all the things that people treat as the norm.

What are you planning to do on your next vacation?

Swimming... a lot!

What is making you get up from bed even when you have a bad day?

My daughter’s playfulness, her smile, her excitement to go out in the sun.

What are your dearest memories, some that you always think of with joy?

When my daughter saw the first time the sand and the sea 😊.

If you could change something from the past, make a different decision, what would it be and why?

There are a lot of things that I would change, but then I realize that if things were different, I might not be here at all. So, everything was settled better than I imagined. I learned that asking “What if…” does not change anything at all and only causes stress and worry!

If you could go anywhere in the world, at any time in the past, what would that be and why?

I am fascinated by the history of Egypt, the time of the pharaohs, so, if I could travel the time and space I would like to see that luxurious world with queens and palaces.

Can you name one hobby that you really enjoy?

Swimming is the only hobby that brings me satisfaction.
