You can take a short break to discover our new colleague, 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗯𝘂𝘀, our 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁.🤩 In this interview, Alex talks about his passions for sociology, music and history. Also, he offers us some productivity tricks that can make our day better. 💬

If you could be a crayon, what color would you be? What’s the meaning behind it?

I would be khaki. The color is adaptable to the environment and that is why it is used in many military outfits. I consider myself adaptable to situations in life.

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

About the people in the past that I met and didn't talk for a long time.

What’s your favorite ‘90s jam?

Bee Gees – Stayin’ Alive. It gives a certain vibe and motivates me to keep on going. That is actually the message of the song, for people in the day by day struggle to survive.

What’s the last tv show you watched?

House of Cards. It is a politics related series in which it shows the day by day life of politicians and their relationships, struggle for power and how they act in relation to the citizens in their political acts. It also shows the personal side of the political characters and the ‘’behind the scenes’’ life and the impact on the political side.

What are you known for?

I liked to write hip-hop music. I used to write poems at school and then I moved to writing musical texts for hip hop music which I also learned to make on the computer. I always had a thing for writing.

What’s the most interesting thing about you that it’s not put up in your resume?

I am creative, I like to write, draw, paint or watch someone do them. . I did not mention the aspect of drawing and writing since it was not required on the tasks for the job I applied for. I am better at writing than at drawing but sometimes I like to draw what I want to be understood explicitly rather than writing it.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

I need to be physically active, do something like sports, push-ups, or something that stimulates my body so that I don't get bored and just keep myself mentally active.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day?

I like to relax listening to music. I listen to a variety of music, but I rather listen and feel comfortable with the music I had around me in the neighbourhood and childhood years.

What three words would your friends use to describe you? Why?

Calm, quiet, not so open to new things. I am a calm person and do not engage too much when speaking. I like to talk just what is needed to say. I am not open to new things especially if it is something that could be dangerous, or hard to manage. I prefer to have a predictability in life regarding everything as much as I can, since times today are impredictable. But since life is impredictable I try at least regarding what I plan or what can be planned and gather details about it, to do so, and reduce the element of surprise.

If you could add one thing to the DataDiggers office, what would it be?

I don’t have anything to add for the moment.

What’s the first concert you ever went to?

I went to a hip hop concert with some friends from high school. It was a show at which I attended for a friend’s birthday and while I did not preffer the artist so much it had a great vibe to it and also being with my friends proved a happy experience.

If you had to pick one age to be permanently, which age would you choose? Why?

I would choose 20 years. Because it was the time when I had finished high school, after switching from an industrial high school to a theoretical one and passing the Baccalaureate exam, which meant more to me than to others, since many of my former colleagues from the food industry section had just finished 12 classes. It is also the time when I could choose any school, college, qualification and I have time to do them. Like driving license or any other course.

If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

At the crossroads. I think my life has always been between choosing the right path or the wrong path. I could choose to stay within the law or not, stay in school and try to stay on track, or get involved in other activities. I chose to stay in school.

What was your first job?

I had activities which could be taken as a job, for my highschool, but the first job was as a human resources and administrative role.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?

Faster learning. . I think faster learning is a trait that can help anywhere, anytime. It is the most needed so you can adapt fast to new tasks and situations that can’t be learned or done in a longer timespam.

What do you do at DataDiggers and in what circumstances would I come to you for something?

You could come when you need something regarding the panelists such as informations about their activity, progress on MyVoice, the app for DataDiggers.

How do you prefer to start your day?

I start my day eating something and trying to stay active, move a lot. That’s why I prefer using public transport as less as possible and balance between transport and walking.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at DataDiggers?

I was surprised to find that as a first job it was the best experience after hearing from many known people that the first job may be less great especially for someone who doesn’t have any experience.

Who is your hero?

Nelson Mandela was an inspiration because he had many struggles in a troubled country yet managed to win after all that not just survive it, but overcome it and be successful.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I would live exactly where I live now. In Bucharest. I prefer life in the city, accommodated myself with the apartment blocks and the apartment life. I do not enjoy other places than the city. The dream of a house with a garden and lots of trees is not my exact type. I enjoy nature as needed to survive but I prefer the urban life and don’t feel comfortable anywhere else not even at the beach at the seaside which is somehow similar on the climate aspect.
